Sallie & Larry Brown Musical Background

Larry and Sallie Brown met 18 years ago at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in San Diego.  At that time, Sallie was the Music Director, Worship Leader and Organist for her church.  One Sunday morning Pastor Mike introduced Larry Brown to her, saying that Larry might be an asset to the Eagles Wings worship team.  That was such an understatement!  From that moment onward, worship at the 11 am service truly had ‘eagles wings’.

Larry began studying the violin at age 9 because the violin case was much easier to carry than his previous instrument, the accordion.  Love for the violin drove him to practice long hours to be become a professional violinist, a member of The San Diego Symphony for 10 years.

Larry received his Bachelors and Masters degree from the University of Kansas.  Also, as a graduate of Moody Bible Institute, he pursued his love for Jesus Christ by playing in various churches.  For a length of time he directed choirs, sang in a traveling quartet and was, eventually, led to the mission field of Chile, SA.  There he produced the first Living Christmas Tree attended by 15,000 people.  He was a ‘musical’ missionary, in Chile and he raised up a worship team that recorded their music and traveled throughout SA.

Sallie began her musical career by picking out songs on the piano as a child.  By age 10 she was playing songs for children to sing in Sunday School.   She graduated from SDSU and taught music in the San Diego public school system for 11 years.  Leading worship and writing worship songs is her first love.

Together, Larry and Sallie blend their musical talents to bring others into a musical dimension where others may experience the glorious Presence of Jesus Christ, the King of Glory!
